NEON Workshop on IoT Technologies for the Agriculture Market
Montevideo, Uruguay, hosted by Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad de la República.
June 29-30th, 2023
Organized by the Erasmus Network of Competence NEON (https://www.project-neon.eu/).
The Internet of Things (IoT) has been a game-changer in many industries, and agriculture is no exception. The integration of IoT technologies in the agricultural sector has led to the development of innovative solutions that help farmers optimize their operations and reduce costs, with impacts on the complete supply chain.
We
are organizing an event to showcase the latest research and
developments related to IoT applied in the agricultural sector,
including crop and livestock production, aquaculture, fisheries, and
forestry.
The workshop agenda features international keynote speakers who will share their insights and expertise. We will also have an industry panel comprising local and regional initiatives to discuss the practical implications of IoT in agriculture. A panel discussion will also provide a platform to consider the demands and perspectives of local agricultural research institutions and faculties. Furthermore, the agenda includes technical presentations addressing for instance, the optimization of any of the wireless sensing devices’ design aspects, networking or communications challenges in rural production, and services with an emphasis on the application for the agricultural domain.
- keynote speakers: Prof.
Mark Trotter (Central Queensland University, Australia) and Mehmet Can
Vuran (Susan J Rosowski Professor, Computer Science and Engineering,
University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE, USA)
- Panel discussion about the agriculture market with invited members from the regional Agtech-IoT Industry.
- The demand side: panel discussion with invited members from Uruguayan agriculture research institutes and scholars.
