Corwave is an early stage company focused on the development of innovative blood pumps. They are based
on a disruptive technology, the wave membrane, which was developed by the CNRS and AMS R&D, and is
protected by nine patent families. It mimics cardiac beating and preserves blood. Thanks to this technology,
the Corwave VADs should limit the morbidities usually associated with those devices and improves the
quality of life of those patients who suffer from chronic heart failure.

Descripción:
The intern will work on the R&D department, and will assist the team in charge of the development of the
controller (embedded system) managing the operation of the pump. This component is a critical part of the
system and is being designed to comply with the applicable international medical devices standards (IEC
60601, ISO 14708, etc.).
The tasks will include varied aspects like:
Mathematical / physical modelling (Matlab / Simulink)
Prototyping of control and measurement cards
Development of control algorithms
LabView development
In-silico and in-vitro tests
Bibliographic review
Perfil:
We are looking for motivated, dynamic and curious candidates. You will work in a multicultural
environment that requires a good level of both written and oral English. Skills in the field of medical
devices (acquired during studies or during another internship) will be highly appreciated but not
discriminating. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is also sought:
Analog and digital electronics
Programming of microcontrollers
Numerical modelling
Signal processing
Biology, physiology
